Revised Edition

So, revised edition of "Talking Dogs".

That was a great run, though, I wonder, do you think it'll come back again?” asked a high yipping voice.

I hope it doesn't, it wasn't much fun. It just kept rolling on, didn't even notice us.” answered another high voice, though it wasn't as eager as the other voice had been.

Two dogs ran around the corner of a disheveled old house. The yard was covered with trash and old household items. One dog seemed to be a cross between a chihuahua and a dachshund, it was dingy yellow, with one white ear, and was the source of one of the yipping voices. The other dog was a undeniable mutt, though what kind of breeds it had in it was impossible to tell. It too had a yip in its voice, though not quite as high pitched.

It was too big to really get any pleasure from it.” the lower voice sounded again. “I guess we'll just have to wait for some better entertainment .”

We always have to wait. I don't want to wait any longer, let's just go chase the big four legged one across the street. It's always good sport.” the high voice came from the yellow dog, named Tako by his sister, Bell.

Not yet, here comes another great monster. Maybe it'll stop and the thing inside will talk to us like some do. That is always entertaining. Let's go before it leaves again.”

The dogs ran around the corner out of sight, and a human voice rang out, yelling some unintelligible word.

Now that was sport,” said the lower dog voice, now the day is done, let's go.”

I'm now leaving for piano, then I'll have to finish Algebra when I get back, and this evening I have soccer practice. Gotta go.

This is part of my school work, I have once again been ordered to write on my blog by Mum. So I will try to write my writing from school work at least once a week.
Here is my first work of this week. I call it for now "Talking Dogs". Feel free to suggest different names and corrections. Have fun at my expense for now. Now I will go do something else that is slightly more interesting to me. Swing dance lessons at the park. Good bye everyone, have fun this weekend.

Information

For everyone's information, this is a strictly informative post, so don't expect too terribly much from it. We (Peter, Annalee, Aunt Susan and I) will be going to Mexico in the next couple of months, so I thought it appropriate to post the annual Mexico letter.

October 11 2008

Dear Friends,

Annalee, Lillian, and Peter Fearing are going on a service trip to Mexico with their aunt, Susan Radford, and Chase Oaks Church in Plano. The trip will be from Wednesday, November 26, through Sunday, November

30. The goal of this trip is to share the love of Jesus by building relationships in the community, building new houses, refurbishing existing homes, and conducting neighborhood outreach to children. These houses are 12 x 24 on a cement foundation. Those who get the homes have certain requirements to meet before they are considered and a local church works with them before, during and after the building has been completed. They will definitely be painting – both the house and themselves!

**Speaking as Aunt Susan, it’s a privilege to get to take the kids with me on this trip. The ways God opens their eyes to His work in another part of the world is amazing. We call these “God sightings” in the midst of the trip. The kids enjoy the work, the relationships with the family we serve and their co-workers and their faith expands. To quote the oldest, Ross, from the first time he went with me “These people are happy and they don’t have anything.” That’s a huge, eye-opening comment for kids coming from our culture where we can have it all almost whenever we want. Thanks for your participation in growing the kids and helping to give them expanding their vision of what our God can do and for helping to provide housing for those who don’t have any, giving them opportunity to hear the truth of God’s love for them.

The cost of this trip for the three of us and Aunt Susan is $1730 and needs to be received by November 7. The money required for each person includes transportation, food, lodging, and supplies for the mission – building, paint, roofing materials, and also materials for the outreach. If you would like to contribute to the Thanksgiving mission, we would ask that you make out checks to Chase Oaks Church. You may designate Mexico Mission in the notes, but please do not write our names on the check. Susan Radford will be giving these checks to the organization, so please send any contributions to:

Susan Radford

Plano, TX 75023

We would also appreciate prayers for safety for the whole project in traveling and working and that we would be able to make a difference in the physical and spiritual

lives of those we build homes for!

Okay, so I think you get the idea about that. I also have been trying to sell popcorn for my Venturing crew. Venturing is a branch of boyscouts that is for boys and girls, though our crew is only girls. Anyway, we're raising money so that we can go to Philmont scout ranch. So ends my informational post, till next time.

Last week, hurricane Ike hit Nacogdoches. A couple of trees fell in our neighborhood, but only one actually hit a house. Thankfully, that one didn't do much damage either, as far as I could tell. However, none of us were here to enjoy the hurricane to it's fullest as all of us were in different places. Mom and Dad went to San Diego for some conference, Peter Annalee and I went to Mineola to the Cargill's house and Ross and Andrew went back to college. I'm sure we all had fun in our respective areas, other than college. But as I was only in Mineola, I couldn't tell you what other people did. So, you'll have to be happy with an account of what I did all week. And then some.

So, Tuesday we left for our respective places, Andrew and Ross to A@M, and Mom, Dad, Peter, Annalee and I to Mineola. I think I spent most of the two hours it took to get to Mineola either reading or staring out the window. Once we did get there, we all lugged our various amounts of luggage into the house and bid adieu to Mom and Dad. There were only four of the six, er, seven now Cargill's at home. The seventh being the oldest's, Kristin's, husband. Kimela, the second oldest, is in college, I think. Then Katie and Ryan are both at home with Dr. and Mrs. Cargill.

Now, to summarize the week: I don't really remember all that we did on Tuesday, but we did go swimming in their pool and played various games.

Wednesday: We started off by doing our school work, for me that was Math and Biology. After doing those things in a remarkably quick amount of time, everyone else was still busy doing their school work, so I sat down with a book I was supposed to read. Once everyone was done with their school, we once again played various games which included card games, something called the foot game, and eventaully, swimming. After dinner, we watched Jurassic Park 1, wich wasn't terrible, but wasn't the greatest movie I've ever seen either.

Thursday: Once again, we all did school work. Once again I finished very quickly and read a book till everyone else was finished. And again, we all played various games until dinner. After dinner, Dr. Cargill announced that he was going to take us on an ecological tour of the Mineola Nature Reserve. He also gave us assignments to research. The idea was that we would tell each other what we had learned about our subjects. So, once we had our individual things to research, we were also told that they had visitors that night. Needless to say, that ment that all of us had to go back to Katie's and Ryan's rooms to research and then, to eventaully play.

Friday: School, read, play. Lunch, then depart for the Mineola Nature Preserve. It was a really neat trip, not only did we see raccoons and a beehive, but also various poisonous snakes. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Once we got to the preserve, we all took a restroom break as there were none on the trail. I can't go into much detail, as I don't remember very much of it. On the trail, the paved part that is, there was a beehive. We also saw a bunch of tree frogs in a swampy part of the park. About three-ish, Katie, Mary and Mrs. Cargill had to leave for Katie's lessons. I don't recall what kind of lessons they were though.
After they left, we walked for a long while, until we came to a part of the path where there were posts from an old rail-way lining the path. In the dirt, someone had written "raccoons in post". Certain people were, of course curious. So someone had the bright idea of sticking a stick inside the post to see if there was anything there. Thankfully, that person didn't hit the mother raccoon, else we might have had some casualities. They did however, manage to wake the baby, which promptly started vocalizing it's discontent with the situation. After which everyone, including me, had to stick their heads in to investigate.
When that had ended, we continued walking until we got to the river, where we took a break on some benches. After resting for a small amount of time, we continued on our way. When Peter and Ryan had reached a bridge, Ryan let out a tremendously high pitched yell, and jumped four feet in the air. It so happens that just as he had reached the bridge and was about to walk across it, he saw a tremendously sized water moccosin snake and what appeared to be it's child. Again, we continued on our way, until we reached the home stretch. We were, again, confronted by a deadly poisonous snake, this time a rattlesnake. It curled up and rattled and we threw stones at it until it slithered away. After that, we had no more incidents of the kind again. We arrived home safely and with plenty of jellybeans having been dispatched. We ended the day by watching Jurassic Park 2.

Saturday: No school! Of course I did sleep late, but then, who doesn't sleep late on a Saturday? The day consisted of various games and swimming in the pool. We also almost officially closed the pool, but not quite. I mean that we did everything but put the pool cover on. After watching Jurassic Park 3, we all went to bed.

Sunday: We all got up earlier then usual so that we could get to Church on time. However, only Katie, Ryan, Annalee, Dr. Cargill and I went to morning worship. Mary was going to stay for the second worship, but got carsick and, well, got sick. I don't really remember much else that we did that day but watch a movie. Unfortunatley, I also don't remember which movie we watched.

Monday: The day we left. But we didn't leave until around 1:30. Until then, we did school, and played games again. The trip home was uneventfull. But, once we did get to Nacogdoches, I had to immediatly to a Venturing meeting that I was going to late to anyhow. The point of the meeting was to clean the cars at Tipton Ford. So, we finished up around 8:30-ish and everyone went home.

Tuesday: A mostly normal day, except that I didn't do all of my normal work, as Mom was still recovering from San Diego. That night, I again went to Tipton Ford, this time only a few minutes late.

That's all I'm posting, as for Wednesday through today, as far as you know, they didn't exist. So, hope your happy with that, 'cause that's all I'm going to write until tomorrow at earliest.

Who Cares What This Thing is Called?

Did you notice my very elegant title? I decided that I've just about run out of title names, so I just made one up. Hee hee! So on to ordinary, every day, run of the mill things.
More school work. More tears shed over Algebra. More great sighs of exasperation over geography. More banging my head on the table because I don't know what I'm doing and why. But I guess it's not all bad, after all, without school what would I do all day? Okay, so that's not exactly fair. I shall rephrase. Without school, I wouldn't know how to read! Imagine that! Me, not reading! That would be strange indeed. Speaking of reading, would you like to know what I have been reading? Something called "A Father's Promise". It's a book about the second World War. Specifically, about a Jewish-Christian boy in the second World War. It's rather interesting, and considering that I don't normally go for books without dragons in them, that's saying something.

Randomness. Dad just made me look a personage (or rather, as he says, a story about a person) called Enide. Apparently, she was as Arthurian character. Here's the story.

{Enide and Geraint/Erec meet while the hero is on a mission to defeat a cruel knight, and her family provides him with armor and food. They fall in love and marry, but the hero begins to forsake his social and chivalric duties for domestic bliss. Rumors spread, and Enide blames herself. One night, her husband overhears her crying about damaging his reputation.

In Chrétien's version, Erec begins to question Enide's love, but in Geraint the protagonist misunderstands her sobs and thinks she has been unfaithful to him. In both romances, the hero makes her accompany him on a long and dangerous trip, and forbids her to talk to him. Enide ignores this command several times to warn her husband of impending danger. Over the course of the trip, Erec/Geraint proves his abilities as a knight have not faded and accepts that Enide's love and loyalty are genuine, and the couple is reconciled.}

Get the general idea? Good. Anyway, back to books. Maybe not. I just changed my mind. Instead, I'll tell you about today. Other than school (groan) I went to a Venturing meeting tonight. Mostly we talked about fund raising (hint hint!) for Philmont. Our plans were to start... You know, maybe I shouldn't tell you. :P!!! Very, very secret plans they were. And I shall not divulge them! Ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaa! Weeelllll... I guess I can tell you that we planned on doing some yard work eventually. That's not too secret. Other than that, we colored while the adults talked. We all acted, in other words, like four year olds. Though with less squabbling and more giggling.

I've always wondered, what is is with teenage girls and giggling? Is it some hormone type thing? Or do we all have some secret agreement just to annoy the boys and keep them up all night. Hmmm... Definitely something to ponder, especially for you guys out there. Pbthh.

So anyway, from now on, I'll try to think before I giggle. But it'll definitely take some effort. *Giggle*!

I am posting today because I have been taken to task by several people about certain things I wrote yesterday. Firstly, I would like to say that I said something very wrong about losing to ASU. Aggies never lose. That is the truth. Also, the band at half time always wins no matter wether the football team does well or not. So, excuse me for those very large mess ups.

And this is for all of you who have written and told me so. :P!!!!!!!
