Yeah! I'm back! From Camping. At Ratcliff lake. By the way, that's why I didn't write at all yesterday. I didn't have the most time in the world cause I went to Lindsey Stephenson's birthday last night. Back to camping.
We got to Ratcliff about four O-clock yesterday and set up the tents. We didn't actually start the fire for dinner until late, so we didn't eat until about eight. We had hobo packets which are just a bit of meat with whatever vegetables you want on top. We then spent a little bit cleaning up dinner and eating s'mores. Amazingly we did have facilities there. The showers were nasty, so none of us took showers, we just changed. After that, we went to bed. Notice that I said "went to BED", not "went to sleep". They sat up all night talking.
SO, I woke up around seven thirty and sat around waiting for breakfast while everyone else (not including our adult leaders) snoozed. We had a casserole for breakfast, then cleaned up. We then broke down camp and put everything in the cats. Once that was done, we did a little bit of hiking. You know, it just accured to me that I should tell you who went, here's the list. Mr. Selmen, Mrs. Slaten, Dr. Scott, Briana Selmen, Brooke Selmen, Elizabeth Slaten, Sarah Slaten, Molly Perkins, Brittany Selmen, Courtney Reese, and Me. That's a long list. Please don't make me write it again.
Now, where was I, Oh, we were going hiking. Yes, we went hiking, came back, did some more hiking, and ate lunch, all before twelve. Lunch consisted of small snack food such as fig newtons, trail mix, beef jerky, cheese and crackers. The cheese was in these cans that squirted out sorta' like whipped cream. After finishing lunch we hiked back to camp then drove back to the lake to do some swimming. We swam for about three quarters of an hour then got some ice cream and drove home.
I'll be writing later this evening about today, because I figured that this has been enough for one post.

Wednesday

Well, it hasn't been the best day. I started out by sleeping late and having an annoying little sister try to "wake me up" by screaming in my ear and banging on things. Then I found out that since I hadn't done any school for, uh, four days, I didn't have a list to do school with. Mom was helping Annalee, so I went outside for while and went back inside to find that Mom was taking a shower. So I didn't start school until after ten O-clock. Thankfully, I only had Catechism and math. And that didn't take very long at all. SO! Not the best day I've ever had. Anything else? Not really. Annalee and Mary spent about four hours watching Arthur on you-tube. Kinda weird.
Anyway, speaking of Annalee, she is going to get a beta goldfish. A pass-me-down from Jaree Bell, the daughter of some missionaries. The fishes name is Dr. Pepper. It's kinda brown and looks like a goldfish, except that it's brown.
So, that was my day. Not much to it. So,

So,here I am again, trying to come up with something interesting to write about for your benefit. Weeellll, I went to the shop again today and burnt myself on the hot glue gun. Ouch. Actually it didn't hurt as much as one might suspect, I mean, yeah it did burn a lot at first, but after a while (that means a while in a bucket of cold flower water) it quit hurting so bad. If you would like to see pictures of my day at the shop, please check out my other blog.
I didn't have to do school today. That was nice. But seeing as I was at the shop all day, it would have been kinda hard to do any school work. Uhhh... anything else? Hmmm... I guess I just didn't do anything else today but work. So I might as well tell you about work.
Well, when I first got there, I counted the money in cash drawer. Then I watered plants, which involved taking the plants out of their pots and then soaking them in a large bucket of water for up to two minutes, then draining them and putting them back into their pots then back into their places in the display.
Then I started to put together a little Styrofoam ball covered with leaves and flowers. That's when I burnt myself. After that I helped process flowers that were delivered. This is how to process flowers. First take them out of their wrapping and trim the ends and stick into some solution that makes them soak up water. After that it is just a matter of putting them into buckets of water and then into the cooler. Today we received irises, golden rod, misty (which looks very similar to baby's breath). I also went on several deliveries around town, had lunch at Subway, and made a daisy arrangement. So, in other words, I had a very full day packed with flowers and flower care which I'm sure any of my brothers would not enjoy. Oh! I forgot, I also cleaned pots! Ahhh! That is one of the most delightful jobs. Just you and the pots and the brush. All by yourself. Hmmm... I must be getting old.
Anyway, that concludes what I did today other than things like getting dressed, eating breakfast and the like. So,

Ok,ok, so I haven't posted in like, a year. I've already kicked myself several times, so no need to be sarcastic- Petr! Alright, I'm going to give you updates for the past several weeks. Number one, Mary Watson is getting married and Annlee and I aregoing to be brides maids. Neat'o. I've also started an apprenticeship at Dream Maker's Florist shop under miss Vicky Dudely. It's actually a lot more fun than it sounds, plus it doesn't take as much physical work like some other jobs. For example; Ross, Andrew and Petr have all done work at the local bike shop with Mr. Christian learning how to take apart and put back together bikes. Now, that (I imagine) would take a lot of work to do that, not to mention the greasy hands. Yes, you do get a little dirty putting plants in pots and stuff, put nothing that can't be immediately wiped off with a wet towel.

Oh! Just in case you were wondering, the reason my art lessons were discontinued was because my teacher became pregnant. Surprise! I've no idea whether it is going to be a girl or boy, only that it is due sometime in December. Ummmm.... Anything else happen that I didn't tell you about? Oh, yeah, certain people will be glad to know that, along with the Yerkes I have started learning about poetry. And... I've actually had to write a couple pieces of poetry myself. And if I follow the rules that I am given, I found that it is very difficult to write unless hit with a very sudden burst of inspiration. So, after this brief explanation, perhaps you will understand why this poem is not the best it could be. P.S. Y'all are free to criticize as much as y'all want except for Petr!

Rivers flooding, flooding, flooding

Streams are overflowing, flowing

Rain is falling, falling, falling,

Falling in the countryside.

Cars are rolling, rolling, rolling

Buses honking, honking, honking

People running, running, running.

People running in the city.

Thunder booming, rolling, tolling

Lightning crashing, slashing, smashing

Rain is falling, falling, falling,

Rain is falling everywhere.

Ok, now you can comment all you like.
