“That was a great run, though, I wonder, do you think it'll come back again?” asked a high yipping voice.
“I hope it doesn't, it wasn't much fun. It just kept rolling on, didn't even notice us.” answered another high voice, though it wasn't as eager as the other voice had been.
Two dogs ran around the corner of a disheveled old house. The yard was covered with trash and old household items. One dog seemed to be a cross between a chihuahua and a dachshund, it was dingy yellow, with one white ear, and was the source of one of the yipping voices. The other dog was a undeniable mutt, though what kind of breeds it had in it was impossible to tell. It too had a yip in its voice, though not quite as high pitched.
“It was too big to really get any pleasure from it.” the lower voice sounded again. “I guess we'll just have to wait for some better entertainment .”
“We always have to wait. I don't want to wait any longer, let's just go chase the big four legged one across the street. It's always good sport.” the high voice came from the yellow dog, named Tako by his sister, Bell.
“Not yet, here comes another great monster. Maybe it'll stop and the thing inside will talk to us like some do. That is always entertaining. Let's go before it leaves again.”
The dogs ran around the corner out of sight, and a human voice rang out, yelling some unintelligible word.
“Now that was sport,” said the lower dog voice, now the day is done, let's go.”
I'm now leaving for piano, then I'll have to finish Algebra when I get back, and this evening I have soccer practice. Gotta go.

Hank?! The Cow Dog?
Hank the Cowdog - a very old and very good children's book. Not a picture book, but a chapter book.
